Siniša Lordan

The hypothesis that something unpredictable and entirely new may emerge within a closed, artificially initiated and controlled system is the main topic of this artwork. A reactor block with twelve glass containers filled with water and various inorganic substances (fine particles) turns for a while, mixing thereby the fluids and the solids in the bottles. Afterwards follows an interval of standstill and gradual settling of the material. A camera placed at the bottom of the reactor block records and transmits the process during which turbulences are defused and fine particles in the bottles settled.

Seit über zwanzig Jahren arbeitet Lordan an seinen intellektuell präzisen, konzeptionellen Arbeiten, die in zahlreichen Projekten und Ausstellungen – u. a. im MARTa/Herford, Gustav-Lübcke-Museum/Hamm und Museum of Contemporary Art/Zagreb – zu sehen waren.

First Device_art chronicle for the Croatian national television and the channel HTV3 about the sixth edition of Device_art festival and its large central exhibition „Machines Are Not Alone“. The curator of the exhibition is ZHANG Ga. With 21 exhibited artworks by 25 international artists, it represents an attempt to map out the activities of contemporary machines and their cohabitation with humans in our contemporary society.

1959 in Šibenik (Kroatien) geboren.
1973-1977 besucht er die elektrotechnische Schule in Split.
2001-2005 Studium an der Kunstakademie Münster (Klasse Timm Ulrichs).
2006 erhält er das von Arthellweg ausgerufene Projektstipendium für das
Projekt Pneumatic fractal.
In zahlreichen Projekten und Ausstellungen entwickelt Lordan artspezifische,
autonome Systeme mit interaktiven Kommunikationselementen.
Sein künstlerisches Werk umfasst Rauminstallationen, kinetische Objekte,
Lichtprotokolle und Videoarbeiten.
Einzelausstellungen haben stattgefunden im Kunstverein Lippstadt, Lippstadt /
Galerija sv. Krševana, Šibenik / Galerie r8m, Köln / Salon Galić, Split /
